One Part Luck is husband and wife duo John Bye and Peg Cowen, from Cummington, MA. A little old-timey… but not, we perform original songs, and a few favorite covers, in sweet, two-part harmony, backed up with acoustic guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, and our much-loved suitcase drum. Our songs range from catchy love ditties to serious spiritual meditations, from toe-tapping barn dancers to wistful lullabies. We released our first cd in September 2015, and were excited when our song “My Old Truck” made it onto Car Talk. Our second cd “Every Hour” was released in May 2018. Mostly we like playing live, and our shows are delivered with humor and gratitude for being lucky enough to share our music with other folks. In the end, it is all about trying to “put a little bit more love in this old world.”

Sometimes folks ask what the “Luck” of One Part Luck is. Big question… but musically speaking, here is the quick answer.

Peg has always loved singing. She did lots of chorus and choir as a kid. John believed singing was something he didn’t have the slightest talent for. As it turns out, he can carry a tune and – here is the luck part – our voices blend together well. More than the sum of the parts, in fact. The song writing followed and here we are having a lot of fun making music together.
